What choice do we have?

So lately I have done some introspection, and talked few friends about Rape Culture, infact any crime.

There was never a time when evil didn’t exist. And I’m sure thinking of a just, egalitarian and utopian society seems very comforting, and hell every good fellow wants that, and many are constantly fighting at their level to get there. But to think that we will have that utopia for sure would be say naive. We would never have a perfect society, a society free from all kind of evil.

If we look back in past, we see much wretched condition. We overcame many horrendous acts. And for this we can take pride in.
But as time has progressed we are facing newer kind of problems.

So what we can do? Should we say that it’s impossible to eradicate crime, so better learn to live with it, or what? (“What choice do we have?” This is the question I asked from one of my female friend on discussion of Rape Culture. Her answer motivated me to write this.)

In Sociology, there is a theory which says that Society is as living as any organism. So, the way organism grows, we as society should constantly grow with it. Surely there will always be newer kind of problem, so our solution should also evolve with it. Its like the way human faces newer disease always, but should not give up. Similarly, society has to evolve and fight back.

Evolve with problem, make others aware of it, educate, teach newer generation not to do what we felt was wrong, at the same time give them space to exercise their morality according to their time and circumstances and speak for what is right.

A process gets finished if there is an end, but in this fight, my friends, there is no end… There will never be a time when evil won’t exist… This battle is a never ending one…

Maybe all can’t speak fluently, but some can try to write, and achieve the purpose, as sometimes “The pen is mightier than the sword”.
