Leap of Faith: Lessons from the great jump of Hanumanji to Lanka

I find myself very humbled to describe the great qualities of Hanumanji. Still, like a small bird who think to touch the sky someday, but could never do, have tried to write down some point in His glories. So, here it goes:

On way to Lanka, Hanumanji faced many obstacles, but cleared one by one, as He had greater goal in mind to fulfill, which was to find Sita.

1) The Golden mountain, which represented comfort n lethargy, which Hanumanji discarded even for a minute before he was successful in his goal. This is quality of Determination.

2) Surasa, a gigantic serpentine rakshashi, representation of Ego. Hanuman tackled ego by becoming small, a quality of being Humble.
“Radhey Radhey kaho, chhote ban kr raho”.

3) Simhika, rakshashi who used to catch the shadow of those flying above her, represented Envy. Those who are envious focuses on dark side (shadow) of others. Hanumanji killed her by going right through her heart. Envy has only one solution, i.e. eradicate completely from heart.

4) Lankini, the gatekeeper of Lanka, tried to stop him. But he slapped her and entered the Lanka.

5) Lanka, itself represented Luxury out of Rajo-guna and Tamo-guna. Luxury is like mirage in sand, which never satisfy us truly. By mind fixed on satva-guna, simplicity, one can overcome it.
